In this webinar, David Kesse will discuss common casting defects found in gray iron castings. He will share the tools required and steps needed to accurately identify the source of the defect and potential remedies.

David Kesse serves as the North America Technical Customer Service Manager at Elkem, bringing with him two decades of expertise in the cast iron industry. David graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Material Science and Engineering. He later complemented his technical knowledge with an MBA from Indiana University.
David spent 15 years at Metal Technologies as a Metallurgist at their Auburn Casting Center where he became fascinated by the foundry. He then moved to Caterpillar’s Mapleton Foundry where he added heavy section and compacted graphite to his metallurgical repertoire.
In his current role at Elkem, David is most excited about giving back to the industry, returning to the fundamentals, and mentoring the next generation of foundry professionals.
